Your role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated scientist to join our Client Cell Culture department in Glasgow. The department is responsible for the preparation of samples from client material for use in follow on GMP assays required to characterize product or material safety. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall conduct of GMP studies, providing scientific support to both internal and external clients, ensuring that studies are conducted in compliance with scientific and regulatory standards.
You will be responsible for on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards, with key responsibilities including:
1. Acting as the Responsible Scientist for routine assays and as such holds responsibility for the overall conduct of those studies.
2. Working within the laboratory operators, providing hands-on support, training, guidance and mentorship to laboratory-based personnel.
3. Participating in external and internal client conference calls, meetings and audits, including regulatory audits.
4. Ensuring timely delivery of client reports that meet quality and regulatory requirements.
5. Liaising with Commercial, Development Services, Programme Management and other Laboratory Operations to provide technical support for ongoing and upcoming projects, as required.
6. Supporting laboratory investigations and providing scientific coaching to team members.
7. Promoting continuous improvement initiatives to improve department processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
8. Ensuring a safe and healthy work environment at all times by not only complying with but actively embracing health and safety policies and procedures to ensure the welfare and safety of self and others.
Who You Are:
1. BSc or MSc in a relevant scientific subject with a further 3+ years' industry experience in a Scientist role or a PhD graduate.
2. Previous experience of mammalian cell culture is essential.
3. GMP experience is desirable.
4. A strong focus on quality and safety to ensure procedures are being followed.
5. Able to demonstrate strong planning, teamwork and organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise effectively.
