About The Role
We have an exciting entry-level opportunity for a Sustainability Technician in our Bournemouth or Reading office. Our Sustainability Group is a leader in sustainable design, construction, and building operation, focusing on environmental standards and innovative, ambitious work culture.
Hoare Lea has achieved milestones like the world's first workplace fit-out to attain both BREEAM Outstanding and WELL Certified Gold. We work with industry-leading clients who aim for excellence and sustainability.
You will have the chance to work on innovative projects, engage with industry initiatives like UKGBC, CIBSE, and the Building Services Engineers Declare, and follow a clear career progression path.
In this role, you will:
* Collaborate with project teams on multidisciplinary projects to deliver sustainable, cost-effective solutions.
* Perform modelling and analysis, including embodied carbon, circular economy, building performance simulation, energy use, and overheating.
* Assist in environmental assessments (e.g., BREEAM, WELL, HQM) from early design to completion.
About You
To succeed, you should have:
* Education to A Level or ongoing Level 3 involvement.
* GCSEs (Grade 5/6 or above) in English, Maths, Physics, or Geography.
* Enthusiasm, ambition, and creativity.
* Teamwork skills. Our teams are the foundation of our success.
* Self-motivation and dedication.
* A long-term career aspiration.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Good time management and organizational skills.
* Attention to detail.
* Ability to learn digital engineering and modelling software like IES, AutoCAD, and REVIT.
* Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for teamwork.
* A serious interest in sustainability.
