Ask us about flexible working options to fit with your work/life balance - HappytoTalkFlexible The Role As an experienced Principal Registered Building Inspector, you will have a varied caseload of work requiring the effective application and understanding of the relevant Building Acts and associated legislation and guidance. You will be involved in a wide range of building projects, including major schemes often in a fast paced environment. You will be experienced at progressing a wide range of site inspections including dangerous building inspections, plan checks, demolition works and enforcement of the Regulations to ensure developments in the Borough accord with relevant legislation. The role will include providing cover as part of our out of hours response to dangerous and insecure premises. You will work effectively as part of the team to deliver excellent customer service to our range of service users and to market the service in a positive manner. About You An experienced and technically competent Principal Registered Building Inspector you will have wide ranging experience of plan checking and inspecting varied development projects including major domestic and commercial schemes. A team player, you will be able to demonstrate a problem solving approach to work, with the ability to analyse complex technical information to make informed decisions. You will be an excellent communicator who is also able to supervise and develop more junior colleagues whilst working in a multi disciplinary team. You will have the drive and desire to embrace new ways of working to ensure the Building Control service strives to deliver ongoing service improvements and innovation.
