Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Mole Valley Community Mental Health Recovery Service (CMHRS) for a motivated person to join our team in the role of Band 7 Clinical/Counselling Psychologist based at our beautiful new Leatherhead Hub at 18 Mole Business Park. Mole Valley CMHRS provides services to working age adults who experience severe and enduring mental illness who live within the Mole Valley Locality. We welcome applicants either newly qualified or qualified with post-qualification experience. Any job offer will be dependent on meeting the person spec and/or HCPC registration. Any candidates who are within 12 months of attaining HCPC registration are encouraged to apply as well. We are keen to recruit clinicians who wish to develop a well-rounded set of clinical skills but are also supportive in nurturing people's special interests. Working days can be discussed at the interviews, we are willing to be flexible. Its good if you can work on Wednesdays. The candidate must have a full and valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes due to the community element of this role and the large geographical area that this post covers. Main duties of the job Working in this field offers a wealth of opportunities for Applied Psychologists to utilise a diverse range of professional skills, which includes completing comprehensive assessments and formulations, therapy interventions, consultation and training to non-psychology colleagues, and contribution to service development initiatives. Other responsibilities will include: To actively involve people in developing and agreeing their own care plan, to act as an advocate and ensure that there is proper regard for their dignity, choice, self-esteem, racial, cultural, sexual and religious needs and preferences. To undertake comprehensive risk assessments and develop effective risk management plans. To practice within a Positive Behaviour Support and trauma informed care framework. The post holder will be professionally supervised by an experienced HCPC Applied Senior Psychologist and will be well supported within the psychology departments, where Continuing Professional Development and staff support are highly valued. There will also be opportunities for you to meet regularly with other qualified Psychologists across the Trust for CPD events and service development/transformation projects.
