Job overview
We are looking for an ambitious and talented senior leader with a flair for high quality management and administration for the role of Head of Cancer (Band 8b/c dependant on experience) to lead our Cancer Centre and wider multi-disciplinary teams to improve services for cancer patients at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton. Reporting directly to the Associate Director, Patient Access & Performance, as part of the Chief Operating Officer's portfolio, this is a demanding role with influence and impact across the whole Trust and beyond, so it will require good stakeholder management skills via clear communications and visible leadership to create the impact required.
You will also be joining us at a time of unprecedented challenge in Cancer services as we look to revolutionise our services to become more responsive for our patients. This will require you to have experience and knowledge of change management tools and techniques, whilst at the same time ensuring that the patient is at the centre of everything you do. Experience and knowledge of cancer services will be advantageous.

You will have a track record of demonstrable leadership, being a role model for high quality values and behaviour, and the proven ability to lead or support transformational change in order to improve how we do things.
It will be critical that you have the ability to inspire staff, stimulate innovation and collaboration and strive for the highest standards of performance. As a financially astute manager, you will also be fully committed to delivering services as efficiently as possible.
