Working with the Head of Wellbeing & OH to manage, develop the provision of an efficient, effective and professional Occupational Health (OH) Service and be involved in all aspects of its service delivery to promote and maintain a high degree of physical, mental and social well-being for all employees of University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust.
Main duties of the job
* Manage, organise and develop the provision of an efficient, effective and professional Occupational Health (OH) Service.
* Develop and implement a collaborative working model across the trust.
* Provide quality healthcare to employees by advising staff and management on the protection against physical or environmental health hazards.
* Line manage a group of Occupational Health nurses and hold a clinical caseload.
* Lead and influence the development and implementation of organisation and departmental policies and procedures.
* Provide professional nursing leadership, direction, and advice for the OH clinical activity.
Qualifications and Knowledge
* Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional with current, live Professional Registration.
* Master’s Degree or equivalent demonstrable experience, skills, and knowledge.
* Management training/leadership course.
* Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Occupational Health) Degree or equivalent Diploma.
* Possess a relevant H&S qualification or be prepared to obtain such qualification within 6 months of commencing post.
Experience
* Experience of working in an Occupational health setting.
* NHS Occupational Health experience.
* Experience leading multidisciplinary teams at a management level.
* Experience of budgetary management and setting.
Aptitude and Abilities
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and solve complex problems.
* Ability to deal with sensitive and distressing situations.
* Good IT and keyboard skills.
Personal Qualities
* Highly motivated and a good team player.
* Ability to prioritise a heavy workload.
