What the Job Involves Your role as a Civil Enforcement Officer encompasses parking and traffic enforcement throughout the Borough by issuing Penalty Charge Notices and ensuring adherence to parking and traffic regulations on highways, car parks, and housing estates. You'll identify improperly parked or abandoned vehicles for removal, scrutinize Blue Badge usage for misuse, and report malfunctioning parking equipment or public service issues. Patrolling by foot or bicycle, you'll ensure the security and functionality of all assigned equipment. Working in a two-person team, you'll document and direct vehicle removals, respond to public inquiries, deliver exceptional customer service, ensure inclusive and non-discriminatory services, and aid in the development of Parking & Mobility Services. Your efforts will support council priorities, strategic objectives, reduced traffic congestion, and enhanced air quality. Maintaining accurate records to back enforcement actions, attending court when required, and adhering to council policies and safety standards is imperative. You are expected to engage in continuous personal development and comply with the council's Code of Conduct.
