Brigham and Women's Harbor Medical Associates, a member of Mass General Brigham Medical Group, is a multispecialty, primary care practice with more than 65 physicians. We have several offices across the South Shore and are affiliated with Brigham and Women's Hospital, Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center, and South Shore Hospital.
We believe that patient care comes first. Our physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and support staff recognize the importance of prompt, expert, and compassionate care for patients whose needs span from general health maintenance to treatment for complex medical problems.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant II to support the Family Medicine suite onsite Monday through Friday, from 9:00am to 5:30pm. During staffing shortages or cross coverage purposes, there could be times to work in another specialty suite at this location.
As true partners to our providers, our Medical Assistants get the opportunity to work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of the care team. The ideal candidate profile is an experienced, adaptable Medical Assistant who is confident in their clinical abilities and genuinely enjoys variety. They can see upwards of 20+ patients per day.
Responsibilities include:
* Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office
* Assisting during office visits (rooming/vitals, examinations, procedures, immunizations, and treatments as directed)
* Performing clinically appropriate tasks related to patient panel management (administrative support, phone calls, test results, prior authorizations, coordination of care, etc.)
* Maintaining neat, clean, stocked, and safe exam rooms and patient care areas
* Interacting with patients and their families in a professional and courteous manner consistent with their needs.
Qualifications
* Required:
o High School diploma/GED
o Either BLS or Annual Manikin training including CPR and AED after 6 months of hire
* Strongly Preferred:
o Medical Assistant Course or diploma program or a minimum of 1 year professional experience
o National MA Certification via AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT
o Clinical support experience, specifically in primary care and/or specialty care setting, preferred
