Exciting Opportunity for an AWS Cloud Architect in the Public Sector

Key Responsibilities:
1. AWS Cloud Architecture Design: Design scalable, secure, and high-availability AWS architecture for hosting mirrored databases.
2. Service Selection & Integration: Implement appropriate AWS services (e.g., RDS, EC2, S3, Lambda) to meet project requirements and integrate Oracle databases into the cloud.
3. Infrastructure Development: Develop networking, IAM policies, backup, and recovery strategies for AWS setup.
4. Collaboration: Work closely with Oracle DBAs to ensure seamless cloud integration of databases.
5. Cost & Resource Optimisation: Plan for resource optimisation and implement cost management strategies.
6. Compliance & Security: Ensure AWS setup complies with security standards and best practices.
7. Documentation & Leadership: Provide technical leadership, develop architecture documentation, and communicate cloud infrastructure designs.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in AWS cloud architecture design.
3. Expertise in AWS services such as RDS, EC2, S3, Lambda.
4. Strong understanding of networking, security, and IAM in cloud environments.
5. Proven experience in designing high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
6. Proficiency in cost optimisation strategies for cloud infrastructure.
7. AWS Certified Solutions Architect (desirable).
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Experience with Oracle database migration to the cloud.
2. Familiarity with modern data warehousing solutions and cloud-native databases.
3. Knowledge of automation tools and infrastructure-as-code practices.
BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance is required, or candidates must be willing to undergo the clearance process.
