Director of Engineering – CPU/GPU Hardware

Our client is a highly ambitious UK based early-stage venture developing advanced processing and networking hardware solutions for AI, HPC and Datacentre applications.
The company is looking to appoint an experienced Director of Engineering with track record of taking development projects from concept to production.
Responsibilities:
* Own the full product development lifecycle from engineering prototypes to product iterations
* Lead and scale a multidisciplinary engineering team in the design and development of high performance CPU and/or GPU platform hardware.
* Drive cross-functional teams including software, firmware, and validation engineers to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and Team Leaders
* Ensure that all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
* Optimise designs for manufacturability and cost efficiency.
* Allocate resources effectively to maximize productivity and meet project demands.
To be considered for this opportunity you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and industry background.
* Minimum 15 years of experience in design engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
* Proven track record of leading complex hardware design projects from concept to production.
* Extensive industry experience in architecture, design, and methodology for cutting-edge board design development.
* Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a demonstrated ability to mentor and motivate a high-performing team.
* Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
* Awareness of market trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to drive innovation.
* Strong business acumen and the ability to align design engineering strategies with overall company objectives.
