As a Finance Support Officer, the post holder will work aspartof a dynamic teamin delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the South West region.
The post holder will support the Direct Commissioning finance team plus commissioning managers across direct commissioning to deliver national and local objectives. The role will be across a range of areas including Primary Care, Public Health and Health & Justice commissioned services.
Primary Care services were delegated from NHSE to ICBs in April 2023 and this post will support ICBs via the South West hub model. Whilst employed by NHSE currently, this post, alongside direct commissioning functions including Specialised Commissioning and Public Health, will transfer to an ICB (expected transfer date April 25 for this post).
Duties of the role include:
• Support the team with the delivery of projects, by gathering information and undertaking enquiries as and when necessary.
• Ensure financial information is processed accurately and in accordance with procedures and in order to provide information for statutory returns.
• Investigate financial enquiries, providing assistance and advice.
• Ensure that work is completed in line with financial timescales and legal requirements

Key Functional Responsibilities
Project Management
• Undertake information analysis.
• Participate in relevant internal and external working groups to provide analyst advice and support and to maintain data collection systems for its effective use by the team.
• Analyse and report on data and monitor the processing of data.
• Provides information to project lead on project and statistical information.
Financial and Physical Resources
• Support the requirement and targeting of resources, monitoring spend, by providing high quality information and analysis.
• Contribute to the financial delivery of the agreed portfolio ensuring it is delivered on time.
Information Management
• Carry out timely and accurate information analysis and reporting on agreed areas and present findings in an agreed manner.
• Develop and maintain databases required for the role
• Maintain administrative and information resources.
Planning and Organisation
• Support implementation of project, initiative through timely and relevant information analysis and administrative support
• Plan and organise meetings assist in the diary management requirements of individuals.
Key Working Relationships
• The post holder will be required to maintain constructive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
• Work with members of the team to develop and implement project data collection systems that will provide accurate and timely data.
