Person Specification
Knowledge
* Highly specialist knowledge underpinned by current evidence-based practice
* Well-established knowledge of a broad range of assessments relevant to specialist client group and extensive knowledge of a range of appropriate specialist therapeutic interventions
* Proven application of current theories and practices on rehabilitation
* Highly developed specialist skills related to dysphagia management
* Evidence of strong commitment to team and partnership working, and leadership skills
* Experience of working in a multidisciplinary and multi-agency
* Demonstrates flexibility of working and appropriate understanding of roles within a team
* Well-established negotiation, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
* Knowledge of current Department of Health policies
* Well-established knowledge of national policies, guidelines and procedures related to client group
* Demonstrates an understanding of Speech and Language Therapy services in the context of the wider NHS structure
* Established organizational skills and experience of caseload management in rehabilitation.
* Excellent interpersonal skills including observation, listening and empathy skills
* Excellent presentation skills both written and verbal.
* Enthusiasm to become involved in new initiatives.
Qualifications
* Recognised Speech & Language Therapy Degree Qualification.
* Additional postgraduate training up to master's degree equivalent.
* Health and Care Professions Council - License to Practice
* Registered member of RCSLT
* Post-graduate experience in specialist area
* Masters Degree
Experience
* Demonstrates experience of working with this specialist client group.
* Experience of service planning, project management.
* Experience of working in the acute setting
* Advanced post-graduate training in dysphagia
* FEES/VF competency
