School Staff Nurses work as part of a team led by our Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (SCPHNs) to deliver a range of interventions to improve the health and wellbeing of children, young people, and their families.
* Help parents develop and sustain a strong bond with children.
* Encourage care that keeps children healthy and safe.
* Reduce childhood obesity by promoting healthy eating and physical activity.
* Identify health issues early, so support can be provided in a timely manner.
* Make sure children are prepared for and supported in education settings.
* Identify and help children, young people, and families with problems that might affect their chances later in life.
This role works within a school-aged service and undertakes regulated activity with children 4-19, including the support of vulnerable families.
You will work closely with all users of our services and their families, friends, and carers who all play an invaluable contribution in how our users experience our services. You are expected to be kind and responsive but professional and informative, and contribute to the quality of the services provided across the health economy by:
* Keeping the people who use our services as safe as possible through the use of sound clinical skills and effective risk assessments.
* Ensuring the best possible clinical outcomes by using up-to-date skills and adhering to evidence-based policies and procedures.
* Ensuring the people using our services have a good experience by respecting, empowering, and working in partnership with people throughout the care planning process.
