About Priory Bristol
Bristol Hospital is rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) the Grade II listed hospital building is set in extensive grounds in the suburb Stapleton, just off the M32 and less than three miles from the centre of Bristol with free parking onsite.
There are 76 beds spread over seven wards offering a diverse range of services including Psychiatric Intensive Care (PICU), eating disorders, acute and rehab and recovery. This offers opportunities to gain experience of working in a number of different services.
The hospital is overseen by an approachable and dynamic senior management team and has excellent links with local universities, which provides plenty of opportunities to gain experience of dealing with complex cases.
Job Profile
The role of the (Registered Mental Health) Preceptor Nurse is to work as an effective member of the Multi Disciplinary team. Responsible for maintaining a safe Care Environment. Exercise professional accountability and responsibility using professional skills, knowledge and expertise in changing environments. To achieve the required post qualification competencies within a 12 month framework.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Abilities
- Newly Qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN), with active NMC Registration
- Knowledge of NMC guidelines and professional practices
- Ability to develop and use flexible and innovative approaches to practise
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to actively achieve Preceptorship standards and competences.
Preceptorship Programme- 12month programme broken into 2 stages with individual support, coaching and mentorship. The programme include competency based toolkits and online access to a portal for independent learning. The programme includes supernumerary hours alongside clinical shifts.
Priory joined the national campaign to raise their Preceptorship offering, designing a Preceptorship Programme that strives to meet the GOLD standards set out by Health Education England, whilst also aligning to the values outlined by NHS Education for Scotland and Health Education and Improvement Wales
