About me:
I am a 57-year-old retired RAF Medic I live in Ipswich with my Partner of 28 years, (married for 25 years) and our two dogs. I have daily difficulties maintaining our home due to a bone disease and tiredness / lack of energy. I am unable to lift items, i.e. Shopping bags, basket of washing, or stretch up due to major issues with my shoulders. I am unsteady some days and I walk with a stick indoors and in my garden, but use either a walker or Power-chair if going out.
I have a number of Chronic illnesses from an immunity disorder chronic pain from Peripheral neuropathy and I now have a Stoma. I have had 3 strokes the last in 2019. I also suffer CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) both my hips have been replaced and awaiting my left shoulder to be replaced my right shoulder is badly arthritic as are my hands now too.
I hope this gives you a picture of me. I can do things but going above my limitations makes me unwell. The main duty is to be my arms, hands and legs in enabling me to remain independent and enjoy life.
I am looking to employ a PA (Personal Assistant) to keep my home clean and safe to ensure my bungalow is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, this is important due to my immune disease to limit infection. Walk the dogs (I may accompany on some walks) require help when going shopping to get walker or power-chair out of car and to push trolly and pack and carry bags to the car and from the car into the house. Ironing as I can only manage a small amount due to the swing motion of my shoulder aggravates it. To assist me with other tasks like gardening and to have a friendly conversation with me over a cup of tea or coffee to stop isolation during the day.
Main Duties:
Although the job description is correct at present it may be change from time to time.
Domestic cleaning including ironing
To ensure specific areas (ie Kitchen, bathrooms (i have two) are cleaned to a high degree and deep cleaned periodically
To walk the dogs (with or without me) the dogs are very friendly and loving
To assist with shopping, going out, accompany to hospital / hospice appointments if required
To help with tasks to aid me to keep my independence as directed by me
To be able to converse generally to help prevent isolation during day
To assist with garden chores (Spring, summer, autumn) I love my garden, but need help to keep it looking fabulous i.e. weeding, deadheading, help with sowing seeds in spring etc.
Essential:

Ability to work unsupervised
Happy to work in Non-Smoking home

Previous experience in support / cleaning etc

Interested in Home crafts - cross-stitch. / sewing (I do this as part of my stroke therapy)
Terms & Conditions:
Schedule: 15 hours split over the week, there can be flexibility with this.
Pay Rate: £12.08 per hour.
Annual leave: The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to work which would normally be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
Background Checks: A satisfactory enhanced DBS check is required for this position if successful, you will be required to provide two references one of which must be your current or most recent employer (or character reference if you have not been employed)
Trial period: This post is subject to a successful trial period of 3 months.
