We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist to promote safe, efficient, and cost-effective medicines management within NHS Orkney.
The post will be part of the developing Primary Care Pharmacy Team services in general practices, care homes and home care settings across mainland Orkney and the outer isles.
The post holder will work as a clinical pharmacist, in all GP practices and Care Homes across NHS Orkney. This will include providing pharmaceutical support through the reviewing of prescribing data, performing audits, and recommending changes in prescribing practices with your key focus being to improve the health and wellbeing outcomes for the residents of Orkney.You will be supported and mentored by our existing team of experienced primary and secondary care clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support workers: team-working is key.
This is an exciting post offering a unique working environment with a friendly and enthusiastic team in a stunning remote and rural setting. You will work with general practice and managed service staff to ensure prescribing is safe, effective, and efficient by becoming an integral member of the Primary Care multidisciplinary teams.
The successful candidate must be a qualified Pharmacist Independent Prescriber and may have a community pharmacy, general practice, or hospital background, but good clinical and technical knowledge and application ability as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
