Persistent and severe absence from school is having a huge impact on the education and life outcomes of young people across the UK. Absence rates are too high, and we want to provide structured support to get young people back into the classroom.
It is our mission to provide mentorship support to persistently absent secondary school students across 10 areas within the UK. We are seeking individuals passionate about supporting young people, through mentorship, to achieve better attendance outcomes.
The Opportunity
As an Area Manager with Etio, you will play a crucial role in driving and securing mentorship programme performance in Hastings. The programme will have a distinct focus on ensuring improved outcomes for students across these schools, requiring you and your team to work closely with students, their families, schools, and other potential stakeholders.
You will lead a team of 5 Attendance Mentors, based across different secondary schools within a single region, supporting them to deliver exceptional mentoring. You will also secure operational excellence within the assigned area, meeting contract, programme, and stakeholder KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
* Being responsible for the effective delivery of the Attendance Mentors Programme in your area.
* Ensuring that the delivery meets KPIs and SLAs.
* Supporting CPD for mentors to ensure support is effectively delivered.
* On occasion, you may be required to undertake a mentor caseload.
* Leading on area stakeholder relationships such as local authorities and schools.
The Person
Whilst managerial experience would be beneficial, this role could be a great opportunity for an individual that is passionate and experienced in supporting improved student outcomes. This role gives a fantastic opportunity to step into management and expand the impact across several schools.
The successful candidate should possess a secure understanding of the issues facing students in secondary schools and have experience of a practical understanding of how to structure approaches to improve school attendance outcomes.
Key Essential Experience Required Includes
* Prior experience of mentorship and/or school attendance barriers programmes.
* Understanding of the needs of secondary schools and persistently absent students/families, and the issues and challenges they face.
* Deep knowledge of the local area and the existing support services for students and their families which can be utilised by key stakeholders.
* Demonstrable data analysis skills and experience of data-driven decision making.
* Stakeholder management skills and ability to influence to achieve shared goals.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills including report writing.
