Job summary A hub and spoke network for ENT operated within South West London with St George's Hospital providing the hub for tertiary care, covering a population of 1.7million. All tertiary inpatient operating has been centralised on the St George's Hospital site however it is the ambition of Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust to provide a strong local surgical service across both sites linking with the hub for tertiary care only. The trust has recently completed a review of the service in collaboration with St George's Healthcare NHS Trust; this post will be a joint role between the two organisations hosted by Epsom and St Helier Trust. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining the existing clinical commitments with an aim to further developing the local service in order to provide enhanced access to ENT surgery on both sites for our local populations. The post holder will develop adult day surgery services at the trust to allow the local treatment of the majority of patients. This post requires an individual with a specialist interest in Otology, in order to strengthen the breadth of ENT surgery. There is an expectation that the new consultant will work closely with the audiology team in order to plan the service effectively. Main duties of the job 1.
