Working as part of our building services teams, potentially working in Healthcare, Defence, Education and commercial sectors, we are now looking for an enthusiastic Trainee MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health) Project Engineer to join our 2025 development programme and help us shape the future.
What you'll do:
1. Work alongside experienced engineers and construction professionals to solve engineering challenges that arise during the construction of buildings.
2. Learn to design, plan and oversee the installation of building services systems, including electrical systems, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, drainage, and renewable technologies.
3. Coordinate site activities to ensure works are done safely, on time, and to meet environmental legislation.
4. Draw up and translate plans using CAD (computer aided design) and BIM (building information modelling) software.
5. Assist with estimating and tenders in the pre-construction stage.
6. Develop cost-effective technical and sustainable design solutions involving the production of 3D models, calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings.
7. Assist with design, planning, health & safety, site operations, and commercial tasks.
What you'll bring to the role:
1. 5 GCSEs at Grades 5-9 including Maths (Grade 6-9), English, and Science or their equivalent.
2. Enjoy working with others.
3. Enthusiasm to learn and a proactive approach to work.
4. Comfort with Maths and Physics as fundamental skills for engineering.
5. New ideas to help us innovate and work better.

What qualification will you be studying towards?
You will be studying a Level 3 Building services engineering technician qualification initially; however, we would expect and encourage you to progress to Level 4 or Level 6 after completing Level 3.
