Job Summary:
Within the Logos House supported accommodation service sits The Bridge Programme, a 10-bed unit which is part of the Drug and Alcohol Accommodation Pathway 4 led by ARA, and in partnership with The Junction Project. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to lead and manage our Bridge support Team. As a Specialist Support Worker, you will empower individuals to overcome the barriers they face, achieve their aspirations, and support them to move on in their recovery journey.
Key Responsibilities:
The role of the Specialist Support Worker is critical to providing an enhanced level of service for our complex clients. As a highly competent Specialist Support Worker you will be responsible for taking a lead role with our 10 bed Pre-Prep Unit, along with 2 part time Assistant Support workers, delivering a trauma-informed and harm reduction programme of moving towards substance misuse reduction and/or abstinence. The successful candidate will be required to liaise and represent the Bridge Programme in interagency collaborations. Responsible to: Service Manager. Responsible for line management of 2 Assistant Support Workers, Specialist Support Workers are required to fulfil Duty Management and on call duties on a rota basis.
The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:
1. Knowledge of the main support needs which are commonly faced by homeless and vulnerable clients, particularly issues relating to substance misuse, alcohol and mental health.
2. An understanding of working in a psychologically informed way, using a harm minimization and trauma informed approach.
3. The ability to take the lead and make decisions, including delivering our Psycho-social programme.
4. Ability to work in a busy environment, be solution focused, show good time management skills, and can demonstrate ability to prioritise and make decisions under pressure.
5. Good verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in range of IT Packages including Microsoft.
