Job Title: CNC Tube Bending & Forming Technician Department: Comp Manufacture Location: Peterhead Position Description: The CNC Tube Bending & Forming Technician will become a multi skilled member of the team responsible for manufacturing aerospace grade tube assemblies. The role of the successful candidate would be to read technical drawings, assemble tubes from component level through to finished assemblies, carry out in process inspection, operate state of the art CNC tube, electrochemical cutting, bending & forming machinery as well as conducting machining operations on traditional and CNC machine-centres. This role will include training however to be successful in this role you will need to be a Machinist to trade or have demonstratable experience in a machine shop setting. Technical Roles & Responsibilities: Carry out manual & CNC machining operations Operation of Manual & CNC Machines (experience preferred) Carry out electrochemical cutting, forming & bending operations on CNC machines Assemble tubes from piece parts level through to finished components Carry out in process / final inspection using precision measuring equipment such as micrometer, dial caliper and go/no go fixtures. Perform set up of various CNC machines for production Develop and improve Manufacturing processes Main Roles & Responsibilities: Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards and work instructions. Sign and Date Completed Route Card Operations Participate in Toolbox Talks/Risk Assessments. Ensure personal competency records are kept up to date. Responsible for ensuring that Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality and general housekeeping standards are maintained at all times. Maintain good working relationships with other team members. Any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business. Qualifications, Skills & Experience: Qualifications: Mechanical Apprenticeship (or equivalent) Mechanical SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) Time served skilled machinist with working knowledge of CNC and Manual machining Skills & Behaviours: Effective communication skills Honest and reliable Self-motivated & Enthusiastic Ability to work well in a team and to take own initiative. Willing to undertake training to improve competence levels in support of departmental activities Willing to become involved with improvement teams and activities Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings Experience: Sound engineering background with experience within and manufacturing environment.
