This new full-time post is available from 1st March 2025 on a fixed-term basis until March 2028. There may be the possibility for extension subject to funding.
This role will be based within the University of Exeter’s Faculty of Health and Life Sciences in St Lukes Campus, in close proximity to and liaison with NHS Royal Devon. There will be flexibility for some home / remote working.
Summary of the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for an exceptionally organised and dedicated manager to use their skills and creativity to support the NIHR Exeter Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) and other Exeter NIHR infrastructures. The NIHR Exeter BRC is a £15.6m collaboration between University of Exeter (UoE), The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHS Royal Devon) and other SW NHS organisations and will transform medical research in the South West, translating research to new treatments, diagnostics and devices for patients. The Training & Events Manager will be responsible for managing the NIHR research training portfolio and delivering a suite of training events across the NIHR partnerships, as well as monitoring progress of BRC members ensuring a commitment to inclusivity throughout. They will be an essential member of the BRC Core Team and work closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Theme Leads and Academic Career Development Lead (ACDL) to deliver a major capacity building programme.
To deliver this role, you will need to manage and develop links with internal and external stakeholders, have strong intellectual capacity and reasoning, the ability to manage a busy and demanding workload effectively and have a background in managing successful projects, events and training. You will have experience of designing processes, systems and services to meet a diverse range of needs and experience of working in Higher Education and/or the NHS/NIHR.

The starting salary will be from £42,632 on Grade F, depending on qualifications and experience.
