Job summary We are looking for outstanding Anaesthetists and pain specialists to join our team working across the Trust to deliver high quality multidisciplinary pain services. Outpatient clinics and interventional sessions will be delivered in conjunction with established colleagues in the Trust from St Richards Hospital, Chichester. Anaesthetic and inpatient pain sessions will be delivered from the same site with outpatient clinics undertaken at Bognor War Memorial Hospital, Sussex Community NHS Trust as part of their multidisciplinary team. Our Anaesthetic department is dynamic and has an excellent reputation for teaching, research and innovation for the benefit of our population. The successful applicants will have the opportunity to hone and expand their clinical skills in addition to developing services within University Hospitals Sussex and our partner organisations. Anaesthetic sessions will form part of the generalist anaesthetic service delivery and can be tailored to the interests of the successful applicant. Main duties of the job Outpatient pain activities are based out of Bognor War Memorial Hospital. The Pain service sits within the Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust and delivers multidisciplinary services including physiotherapy, psychology and clinical specialist nurse input. Anaesthetic services will take place at St Richards Hospital, Chichester. This site has 10 main operating theatres, 3-day surgery theatres and an obstetric theatre. The department provides anaesthesia for over 100 routine operating lists per week servicing all the main surgical specialties, including Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, Maxillofacial surgery, Gynaecology, Breast, Paediatric Dental, Colorectal, Urology, Plastic Surgery and Ophthalmology. Anaesthesia is also provided for the Radiology department, and A&E. In addition, the Department is responsible for the running of the acute pain services and the maintenance of the obstetric analgesia and anaesthesia service for those on the General Anaesthetic rota. Pre-Assessment services are provided across all three sites with consultants providing dedicated consultant led clinics. Cardiopulmonary exercise testing clinics are also provided on the Worthing site.
