Tiger Life provides relevant, accessible, and engaging resources in the areas of personal, social, and professional development to help student-athletes thrive during their university experience and transition from their sport career with confidence. The Tiger Life Graduate Assistant(s) helps execute the unit’s short and long-term goals and supports the day-to-day operations to ensure that we are consistently meeting the evolving developmental needs of our student-athletes. We are seeking two (2) graduate assistants for the 2025-2026 academic year: Professional Development & Personal Enhancement GA and Leadership Development & Community Engagement GA. This is a one-year opportunity with a chance for a second-year renewal based on satisfactory job performance.
Job Description:
Track A: Professional Development & Personal Enhancement
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Develop and provide professional development education to student-athletes including life design, career development, and financial literacy assistance; Facilitate career preparation sessions for individuals and teams that address resume and cover letter development, LinkedIn creation, career exploration, job and internship search strategy, effective interviewing, and professional presentation; Assist in providing on-call programming to assigned teams through meetings with student-athletes; Assist in facilitation of yearly career development programming in collaboration with National L Club and NILSU; Attend and engage in select Comprehensive Education Team meetings; Assist in implementing VITA Tax Assistance sessions for international student-athletes; Lead team-based financial literacy sessions and upkeep Google Drive of team documents; Lead social media professional development. Collect and organize career development data tracking all student-athlete meetings and create an end-of-the-year report for coaches, staff, and administration; Maintain and update employer database of invested industry professionals wanting to vocationally assist student-athletes; Other duties as assigned.
PERSONAL ENHANCEMENT: Assist with developing onboarding program (Summer Academic Success Program; SASP) for first-year student-athletes, ensuring that students receive guidance to be well-prepared and informed at the beginning of their university experience; Lead social media professional development and personal enhancement campaigns with weekly posts addressing professional development topics; Other duties as assigned.
Track B: Leadership Development & Community Engagement
LEADERSHIP ENHANCEMENT: Serves as a co-advisor to LSU student-athlete organizations; the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and/or the Black Student-Athlete Association (BSAA); Provide guidance to executive board members to assist with decision making, leadership, and event execution; Attend committee meetings and support members with planning and facilitating regular programming; Schedule regular meetings and check-ins with executive team members and primary advisor; Assist in maintaining, managing, and posting event calendar; Assist in the planning of student leader retreats and trainings; Develop, plan and implement personal development programming and resources for student-athletes; Assist in providing on-call programming to assigned teams.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: Create, organize, and facilitate community service initiatives for individuals and teams; Develop and maintain relationships with various community partners based on team and individual service interests; Manage and upkeep Helper Helper rosters for all teams and ensure accurate accounts of logged service hours; Provide service hour reports for coaches and administrators when requested for NCAA, SEC, and Mikey Award information.
Program Oversight (10%):
Collaborate with Tiger Life Graduate Assistant as lead facilitators of Service Socials and Tiger Nights; Identify organizations in need and integrate acts of service into campus-friendly opportunities for student-athletes to engage.
Event Support (10%):
Assist in facilitating Tiger Life programming and connecting student-athletes to related resources; Assist with comprehensive educational programming across athletics departments; Staffing and supporting signature Tiger Life programs (Tigerpalooza, Commitment Month, MLK Day of Service, BOOzar, Thankful Tiger, Build your Board, Sweats to Suit, etc.).
Administrative Support (10%):
Assist in drafting and sending departmental emails promoting events and educational opportunities; Scheduling interdepartmental meetings for both staff and student-athletes; Navigate and schedule Teamworks for communication and event planning purposes.
Perform any other duties as assigned (5%).

Benefits: Position includes $2000 stipend per semester and tuition exemption.
Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications: Preference given to degrees in higher education, educational leadership, business administration, psychology, social work, sport administration, counseling, or related field.
Special or Physical Qualifications: Demonstrate skills and proficiency in administering student support programming to prepare student-athletes for life after post-secondary education and demonstrate an understanding of athletics and holistic development. Exceptional oral and written communications skills. Excellent conflict resolution, project management, business management, and human relations skills. Must be willing to work irregular hours, nights, and some weekends.
