Salary: Up to £47,000 per annum

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team within our Chartwells school sector at Compass Group UK & Ireland. This role will be based at our head office in Birmingham with flexibility to work from home 1 day per week. As an Assistant Finance Manager in Compass, you will perform an influential and high-profile role delivering financial and commercial support to the Chartwells business sector. Through effective business partnering, the role will continually improve service levels, cost effectiveness, and add value to commercial activities undertaken.
You will provide commercial acumen to drive efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction in addition to:
1. Business partnering - driving contractual performance and the understanding of key stakeholders (finance and non-finance)
2. Provide commercial insight and analysis to the Account Director to support operational decision making
3. Manage and develop junior finance team members
4. Ownership of the financial results and reporting of performance including budgeting and forecasting processes
5. Responsible for financial control and governance processes including contractual compliance and adherence to Compass financial policies
6. Attend and present financial results and insight at client and internal meetings
The successful Assistant Finance Manager will be:
1. A Part Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with varied experience in accounting roles
2. Experienced in business partnering senior stakeholders with the ability to challenge, influence and persuade at all levels
3. High numeric and analytical skills and attention to detail
4. Comfortable developing and working with complex spreadsheets
5. Demonstrable commercial finance experience of improving business results and adding value
6. Excellent communication skills - ability to communicate oral and written information concisely and logically
7. Ability to analyse, evaluate and present information in a clear and concise way
Desirable:
1. Experience of operating within a multi-site, multi-contract organization
2. Good working knowledge of SAP
