Job Title: Principal Instrumentation Engineer
Location: Manchester
Contract: 12 months
Responsibilities:
1. Contribute to projects under a well-established Master Service Agreement.
2. Engage in all project phases, including Conceptual Studies, Basic, FEED, and Detailed Design.
3. Focus on control and instrumentation (C&I) engineering tasks for process plants and facilities, spanning the Chemical, Petrochemical, Power, and Energy Transition sectors.
4. Develop and manage C&I Engineering deliverables as required per project.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Experience: Proven expertise in instrumentation design for medium to large capital projects, covering concept through start-up.
2. Industry Expertise: Significant background in the Chemical, Petrochemical, and Oil & Gas sectors.
3. Collaboration: Skilled in multidisciplinary coordination, especially within contracting environments.
4. Communication: Excellent proactive communication skills, with experience liaising with Client Engineers and Project Management.
5. Educational Requirements: Degree qualified in a relevant discipline.
6. Professional Credentials: Chartered Engineer status or working towards it, with membership in IMC or IET.
7. Technical Skills: Equipment specification, selection, and supplier compliance within an EPC setting.
8. Familiarity with design tools, techniques, and project execution methodologies.
9. Budget and schedule control experience.
10. Proficient in design safety and constructability.
11. Knowledge of electrical protection methodologies.
12. Expertise in field instrumentation, analysers, DCS, PLC, and SIS systems across the lifecycle.
13. Experience with Hazardous Area Instrumentation (ATEX) and mechanical package instrumentation requirements.
14. Competence in P&ID development and sizing of flow devices, control valves, and relief devices.
15. Global Teamwork: Experience with global integrated delivery teams is preferred.
16. Additional Attributes: Innovative approach and ability to adhere to company standards.
