We are seeking an exceptional Democratic Services Officer, specialising in Scrutiny, to play a critical role in supporting our local authority’s democratic processes and governance.

1. You will act as the primary support for the Council’s Scrutiny and Overview function, ensuring our Scrutiny Committee offers robust examination of Council policies, strategies, and executive decisions.
2. You’ll oversee hybrid meetings, provide expert constitutional guidance, and help support effective local democracy.

South Cambridgeshire District Council currently operates four-day week working arrangements. A four-day week is when full-time staff work one less day per week (four days instead of five) but still get paid the same salary. The idea is that we get 100% of our work done, in about 80% of the time, for 100% of the pay.
