Role description:
We are currently seeking a Cost Manager / Cost Consultant with Commercial awareness to join our UK Water teams. As a Cost Consultant, you will work as part of the Cost & Commercial Management team where youll be involved in a wide range of projects from global and high profile to small and impactful, ensuring theyre delivered on time and to budget. Your expertise in planning, estimating, budgeting and managing costs will drive growth and smarter working.

The rate at which were seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires, is becoming more frequent. Please note due to the requirements of our current client, travel to the East Sussex or Hampshire area 1-2 times per week is required.
Role accountabilities:
1. Supporting the NEC Project Manager to administer the post contract administration of NEC contracts, including assessment of contractual change and payments.
2. Support suppliers in providing accurate and validated information for Project Cost and Financial Forecasts
3. Commercial support, advice, and guidance through all gateways to minimise cost and scope changes throughout the project life cycle
4. Provide contract support, advice, and guidance
5. Procurement support
6. Close out of final accounts for projects varying in value from £k to £15m
7. Participation in risk and value management/meetings as required for the projects
Qualifications & Experience:
8. In-depth technical knowledge of specialised field, including construction processes and cost and commercial management in a consultancy setting
9. Good NEC Contract experience with experience in the infrastructure sector
10. Possess the skills and experience to actively support the internal team and manage more junior staff on projects typically ranging between £k and £15m.
11. Demonstration of self-management and prioritisation skills with the ability to work under pressure
12. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to influence stakeholders and third parties
13. Pre and Post Contract experience
14. Capable of taking a project through from inception to completion
15. Excellent understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite and in particular Excel
