The Medical Care Group of Barking Havering & Redbridge University Hospitals (NHS Trust) (BHRUT) is recruiting Registered General Nurses for a Band 6 junior sister / charge nurse, posts currently available on the Ash ward at King George Hospital. This is a 28 bedded Diabetes, Endocrine and General medical ward.

BHRUT has a team of highly trained, dedicated and experienced professionals across the two hospitals. The division is committed to providing high levels of training and education to staff and is also active in developing multidisciplinary team working.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide support to the Senior Sister in effectively leading and managing the ward.
2. Participate in all ward activities as an effective team member.
3. Support the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in taking responsibility for the leadership of a team of staff.
4. Assess care needs, and develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
5. Teach and supervise qualified and unqualified staff, acting as a role model to junior staff, and undertake performance management as required.

We operate from two main sites – KGH in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford. We have two busy emergency departments with more than 330,000 people visiting them last year. We’re campaigning to secure the £35m we need to transform the A&E at Queen’s and get rid of corridor care.
Our patients are benefitting from our Women’s Health Hub in Ilford; an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and at St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub in Hornchurch.
These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 88,000 scans a year.
