An exciting opportunity has opened up at Lamond Vets for a Clinical Lead Veterinary Surgeon following an internal promotion. We are looking for a passionate, dedicated, and experienced Veterinary Surgeon eager to advance their leadership and teaching abilities. This role offers the chance to shape and enhance our clinic, achieve impactful results, and lead our clinical team to its fullest potential.
You will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the practice, providing exceptional care while mentoring and guiding your colleagues, delivering exceptional care and making a real difference in the lives of pets and their owners. You’ll also have the opportunity to deepen your own professional knowledge. While an interest or certification in surgery is preferred, it is not essential.

Our typical day runs from 8:30am - 6:30pm with protected breaks and lunchtimes. The full-time position includes a 40-hour work week across 4 days with a share in 1:4 Saturdays. Our weekends are Saturdays only and are shared evenly between our full-time vets. These run from 9am - 4pm with a two-hour gap for lunch and in case there have been any admissions to catch up on.

We provide a high-end first opinion service, equipped with advanced facilities including laparoscopic surgery, orthopaedic equipment, VetSEAL, endoscopy, rhinoscopy, ultrasound, digital and dental x-ray, and an in-house laboratory. Our recently refurbished, state-of-the-art clinic ensures an efficient workflow. We handle a large and diverse caseload, supported by many loyal, long-standing clients. We also collaborate closely with the Scottish SPCA and local charities, providing surgeries, consultations, and legal casework.
Our motivated, friendly team is made up of 9 Veterinary Surgeons, 14 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 3 Veterinary Care Assistants and 8 Support Team staff. Our team includes certificate holders in surgery, ophthalmology, dermatology, and internal medicine, ensuring access to expert support and knowledge.
