Secondary Science Teacher
Part-Time (3 days per week - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)
Hours: 08:15 - 15:30 (including planning and marking time).
Our Client is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Science Teacher to join their dynamic teaching team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Science lessons to students, with a focus on fostering a positive learning environment. The role involves planning engaging lessons, teaching across multiple science disciplines, and providing timely feedback on student progress.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lesson Planning and Delivery: Develop and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in accordance with the national curriculum for Secondary Science (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics).
2. Student Assessment: Regularly assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
3. Marking and Feedback: Provide timely and constructive feedback on students' work, including written assignments, lab reports, and exam papers.
4. Classroom Management: Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and promotes good behavior.
5. Collaboration: Work closely with the Science department to share resources, ideas, and best practices to ensure a high standard of teaching across the school.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
2. A degree in a Science-related subject (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
3. Previous experience teaching Science at the Secondary level (preferred).
4. Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for Science.
5. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Hours & Pay:
This is a part-time role working three days per week: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, from 08:15 to 15:30.
Salary will be competitive and in line with experience and qualifications.
