Job Description Instrument Mechanic Derby, site-based Full time, 4 on 4 off 12h shifts, including nights and weekends An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Instrument Mechanic to join our Precision Casting Facility in Derby. In this role, you will be responsible for performing maintenance repairs on production manufacturing assets and all associated production equipment. You will look after calibration activities including, temperature, pressure, vacuum, humidity, conductivity and ph and electrical installation activities of instrumentation. What you will be doing In this role you will be responsible for: Calibration activities including temperature, pressure, vacuum, humidity, conductivity and ph. Electrical installation activities of instrumentation and maintenance of plant and equipment both preventative and reactive. This will be in relation to an extensive and varied range of plant and equipment including wax injection machines, robotic process cells, vacuum furnaces, chemical process lines and X-ray equipment. You will be expected to work to the Rolls Royce Management System for control and calibration of measuring and test equipment, also being able to interface effectively with Customers, Suppliers and Manufacturing Services Team Members to optimise the overall performance of the Precision Casting Facility. Additionally, we are looking for someone who is/has: A recognised advanced level apprenticeship as an Instrument Mechanic or Electrician and NVQ/SVQ level 3/equivalent. Experience in using a variety of electrical test / inspection equipment. Have an ability to interpret engineering drawings. A working knowledge of/ ability to interrogate Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC-s) is desirable. A current (3rd amendment) IEE 17th Edition qualification is desirable. A professional and flexible attitude with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels. It is also essential that you possess an up-to-date working knowledge of health, safety and environmental procedures (including COSHH).
