Job Purpose
Are you ready to make a significant impact in a dynamic and innovative environment? We are looking for a talented Junior Asset Investment Engineer to join our team and help us drive excellence in our operations!
You will have the opportunity to showcase your analytical prowess by diving into large datasets, drawing valid inferences, and presenting them to management using advanced reporting tools. Your inquisitive nature and eagerness to develop new skills will keep you at the cutting edge of best practices.
As a key player in our team, you will share, promote, and implement technical and procedural best practices. Your proactive approach to delivering exceptional customer service to all internal and external stakeholders will set you apart. Demonstrating an inclusive work ethic, you will foster collaboration and respect within the team.
Additionally, you will provide valuable support to the wider asset investment team, ensuring our collective goals are met with efficiency and excellence. Your contributions will be integral to our continued success and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Risk Models & Investment Strategies: Build and maintain risk monetisation and investment models to identify effective interventions and support the development of optimized, realistic, and risk-evaluated investment strategies.
2. Framework & Documentation: Support the building and maintenance of the Risk Trading Framework and document modelling approaches, including SOPs, change logs, and quality documents.
3. Stakeholder Collaboration: Interact with external model providers and work with stakeholders to develop robust data inputs for asset performance, cost information, and intervention optimization.
4. Regulatory Compliance & Reporting: Deliver tables and narratives for the Ofgem Regulatory Reporting Pack, ensuring compliance with internal assurance processes and supporting environmental safety and sustainability targets.
5. Continuous Improvement & Accreditation: Provide analysis for asset investment strategies, support ISO55001 accreditation, and contribute to the Asset Management Community of Practice (AMCoP).
Skills and Experience
1. Strong data and information management skills with attention to detail, including Excel, SAP, ESRI, and a willingness to learn SQL.
2. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively to deadlines.
3. Understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g., RIIO) and commercial awareness.
4. Advanced quantitative analytical skills, including the ability to manipulate complex data and produce clear outputs for decision-making.
5. Asset Management & Operational Knowledge: Basic understanding of gas distribution assets, asset management principles, and interdependencies, along with awareness of statistics and economics.
