We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Technical Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be pivotal in maintaining the team's operational efficiency and enabling the team to meet their Key Performance Indicators and ultimately helping to secure positive outcomes for people, wildlife and the environment.
Responsibilities include:
• tracking the team's work to ensure they stay on target e.g. tracking the team's annual site inspection programme
• Attend monthly debt meetings to recover outstanding payments from Operators, managing the recoupment of costs associated with Permit Conditions
• Supporting incident management for example by organising Environment Management rosters across LNA, ensuring they reflect business changes, and recommend improvements to support the resilience and well-being of staff involved in incident response.
• Ensuring equipment is available and kit for use for example by conducting regular audits of the EM pollution duty kit, ensuring all equipment is replenished, serviced, and that staff have the necessary PPE.
• Acting as Records Management Champion, leading quarterly actions, promote the proper use of the Document Management System, and ensure compliance with upcoming public domain requirements.
• Booking and organising team meetings, managing meeting minutes, setting up action plans, arranging transportation, and managing the team inbox. in line with key performance indicators and completing actions specific to Climate Change Adaptation.
• Occasionally assisting team members with tasks for example compilation of case files, checking that all the necessary information is included and complies with legislation, so that non-compliances can be successfully prosecuted.
• Collates responses to Freedom of Information requests/customer queries and planning consultations.
The team
The team’s and department's core responsibilities include regulating installations under the Environmental Permitting Regulations and COMAH, as well as managing waste sites to ensure compliance with relevant legislation. Officers in the team conduct audits across a wide range of industrial and waste management sites, ensuring adherence to permit conditions. They also undertake complex assessments related to environmental protection, resource efficiency, and waste management practices, supporting sustainable operations and safeguarding the environment.
