HOME CARE WORKER RESPONSIBLE TO: REGISTERED CARE MANAGER HOURS: PART-TIME / FULL-TIME SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: To provide domiciliary care to the highest of standards to a wide range of clients, within the environment of their own homes, promoting awareness for the health and safety of all service users in conjunction with the policies and procedures of True Homecare Limited. MAIN DUTIES: To assist the manager in the delivery of domiciliary care services to clients, ensuring the service operates to specified standards and within allocated resources.To provide personal care and assistance to a wide range of clients within the environment of their own homes.To assist with personal hygiene such as bathing/showering, washing, dressing, cleaning dentures, brushing hair, and washing, shaving and toileting of client.To assist in the administration of medication and to complete medication administration records.The preparation of meals and feeding of client if unable to do so.To treat each client with respect and empathy, and to recognise the individual needs to each client.To be responsible for ensuring the service is delivered in line with the individual’s care plan.To ensure that the needs, interests and rights of the client are promoted at all times.To ensure appropriate responses are made to the clients’ suggestions and complaints about the service provided, and that such suggestions and complaints are reported to the directors within the response times.To ensure prompt arrival at client’s homes, and that the allocated time fulfils all relevant duties that are to be performed in this time.To assist with shopping and domestic duties as instructed by the client.To assist the client in keeping medical appointments and, where required, arranging the necessary transportation. OTHER DUTIES: To recognise the importance of flexibility, and vary the care provided to meet the changing needs of the client on a day-to-day basis.To liaise and form a sound working relationship with GPs, nurses, local authorities and other organisations involved with patient care. RESPONSIBILITIES: To ensure that all mandatory training courses are attended when organised by the company.To report any incidents promptly and ensure all paperwork and reports are completed within the company guidelines.To ensure the attendance of all individual and team meetings.To ensure confidentiality at all times.To ensure that uniforms and ID badges are worn at all times when on company business.To ensure time sheets and mileage sheets are presented on time.To Ensure self and staff adhere to True Homecare Limited policies and procedures at all times, including taking all reasonable steps to manage and promote a safe and healthy working environment which is free from discrimination.To ensure and protect the client’s privacy and dignity, and maintain their independence at all times.To ensure that True Homecare Limited policies for equal opportunities are upheld at all times. LIMITS OF AUTHORITY: The post holder is forbidden:To discuss or advise any service users on any medically related matters.To discipline or dismiss any other member of staff.To take annual leave without prior agreement of the Registered Manager.To advise service users on any financially related matters.
