Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Accountant to join our finance team. This position plays a key role in the Finance Team by supporting the Group Finance Director/Interim FD with month end close activities and reporting while also supporting the rest of the team in the "Day to Day" activities for both UK and European business.
Responsibilities:
1. Closing of Month End Financial Accounts by Day 3, post period end close.
2. Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
3. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
4. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
5. Perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts (Balance sheet reconciliations).
6. Support the external audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
7. Analyse financial data to identify trends and variances.
8. Assist in implementing and maintaining financial controls and procedures.
9. Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
10. Compile all the required information and documentation for the External Tax Consultants to meet Statutory requirements in our current operating countries and to deliver this to the agreed timetable to ensure deadlines are met.
11. Support and backfill for the wider Finance team in the day-to-day tasks such as posting purchase/sales invoices, completing banking duties and managing the shared inboxes.
Critical Success Factors:
1. Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
2. Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) as a financial accountant or similar role.
3. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
4. Proficient in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
5. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
6. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
