Graphic Design Intern (paid)
Reporting to: Studio Director
Based in Head Office in Clerkenwell, London Overview: SALONI is an independent contemporary woman’s fashion brand launched in 2010 which is headquartered in London with an office in Hong Kong. The company has built a strong international wholesale business (particularly in the USA) and has a successful and growing Direct to Consumer business through its own website.
The Position:
SALONI is looking for a talented and skilled graphic designer to join our creative and busy team. This role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment, collaborating closely with Design, E-commerce and Marketing teams to produce outstanding digital, print, and video collateral that aligns seamlessly with our brand identity across web, social media, and partner platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record of ensuring high-quality output by meticulously creating and reviewing designs for accuracy and coherence. Additionally, experience in assisting with fashion photography projects would be advantageous.
The platforms we engage with our community are their first window into the SALONI World and we want to ensure they are showcased SALONI’s aesthetics through on-brand digital and web design, effective email marketing and social media. The successful candidate will live and breathe the aesthetics that communicate SALONI’s brand values and vision.
Key Responsibilities:
Graphic Design:
* Provide graphic design services to support the visual identity of the business across all digital channels (website, emails, social media, affiliates, display).
* Develop and execute digital designs from briefs, including web page layouts, banners, static imagery, GIFs, animations, and videos for mobile and desktop.
* Collaborate with the marketing team on social media and email campaigns (Klaviyo), including selecting imagery, creating/editing videos/GIFs, and preparing templates.
* Edit existing video and stills content to create compelling assets that clearly communicate key brand messages.
* Create, edit, and retouch content for digital advertising and paid social media.
* Suggest creative solutions for website challenges to drive engagement, conversion, and brand experience.
* Assist with concepts, mood boards, and retouching for content creation.
* Create graphic assets for business presentations for internal and external partners.
* Handle website development tasks including video cropping and formatting, editing photos to specific dimensions, extending images, and testing photos in various formats.
* Ensure consistent brand guidelines are followed across all assets.
Photography Assistance:
* Assist with Wholesale look book (5 to 6 times a year, more if there are collaborations):
* Prepare and assist on-set for look book shoots.
* Help with model casting and in-house image retouching for the Atelier site.
* Resize and crop images as needed.
* Create look books for Wholesale markets and check the Atelier site ahead of launches.
* Potentially photograph internal look book shoots if experienced in fashion photography. Assist with E-commerce model shoots (2 to 4 times a year):
* Prepare and assist on-set, help with model casting and compiling casting decks.
* Assist with retouch notes and check retouched images.
* Verify all images on the e-commerce website, including model and product shots.
The Candidate
* Experience working with fashion/lifestyle brands and a good understanding of the luxury market.
* Ideally has experience in fashion photography.
* Demonstrates a solid understanding of print and digital design, visual merchandising, video, and photography, ensuring all deliverables adhere to brand standards.
* Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro).
* Strong design skills with a solid understanding of asset creation for digital channels.
* Strong typography skills.
* Creative eye with a strong awareness of design trends and meticulous attention to detail.
* Strong knowledge of designing for social media advertising (including but not limited to Instagram).
* Passionate about delivering creative solutions that benefit both the user and the business.
* Excellent communicator, collaborative and creative team member who delivers clear, articulate designs.
* Positive, open, can-do attitude; curious, passionate, and driven.
* Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage workload efficiently to meet business objectives and prioritise tasks effectively.
* Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting, particularly to support digital marketing.

* Ideally has experience in animation.
