From emotional regulation to sensory learning and physical support, every day in this role offers a new and rewarding challenge.
Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? Do you want to help them achieve their potential in a warm, supportive environment? If you have experience in care or a related field, and are ready to bring your skills to the classroom, we would love to hear from you.
The Role:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting students with complex needs, including ASD, ADHD, epilepsy, physical disabilities, and PEG feeding. Your responsibilities will include:

2. Supporting emotional regulation activities to help students manage their feelings and behaviours.
3. Assisting in sensory rooms and specialist outdoor areas designed to enhance learning and development.
4. Helping students during snack and meal times, ensuring their comfort and wellbeing.
5. Providing physical and educational assistance tailored to students’ unique needs, including implementing EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans).
6. Creating a positive and nurturing classroom environment, where every child feels valued and supported.
Each day will bring new opportunities to make an impact, and no two days will be the same. Your dedication will help students embrace their individuality and overcome challenges to thrive.
The Ideal Person:

4. Is resourceful and eager to learn new strategies to meet diverse needs, including alternative communication methods, Makaton and PEG feeding.
5. Can collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to create tailored support plans.
If you are driven to make every child feel seen, supported, and empowered, this is a role where you can truly achieve that.
The School:
The school is deeply committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for students with SEND. With small class sizes, sensory rooms, and specialist outdoor learning areas, the school provides a nurturing setting where children can explore, learn, and grow. Staff work closely together to ensure every student’s individual needs are met, embracing diversity and encouraging achievement at every step.
