Buyer - The Role Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will work as part of the Procurement Team within Luxfer MEL Technologies. The main purpose of the role is to ensure achievement of company strategy and goals, financial and otherwise using best practice techniques. You will also be required to purchase goods, materials, and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met, considering price, quality, and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply. Buyer - What's on offer? Undertake a proactive approach to Procurement and drive improvement within their sourcing activities and processes. Review existing categories of spend, identify and prioritise product groups areas for tender / renegotiation. Support in the negotiation of contracts, improving terms of business with suppliers and reviewing opportunities to deliver cost savings to the business. Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets using SAP system. Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities Be responsible for and proactively manage the supplier base for their categories, undertake regular supplier reviews using performance data compiled from SAP and other sources. Be a good team player and support other members of the Procurement function. Buyer - What will make you successful Purchasing experience 1-3 years. Experience of working closely with suppliers Computer literate, with experience of using MS Office - Word, Outlook and PowerPoint, advanced Excel skills/ abilities e.g. Pivot tables Experience of reporting Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills Understanding of purchasing, tenders and negotiation.
