DBS has recently undertaken a review of its operational locations in the North West, and have consolidated all activities in Norcross, Blackpool. A further move, to the new Government Hub at Talbot Gateway in Blackpool, is scheduled to take place in 2026.

Job description
The DBS Portfolio Management Office (PfMO) is responsible for improving governance, with a focus on the selection, prioritisation and control of DBS's projects and programmes and maintaining the DBS Change Portfolio.
As a Portfolio Analyst you will be responsible for the oversight of the DBS Change Portfolio, providing insight, information, and support to strengthen governance and enable effective management of the portfolio. �You will work across DBS to identify and categorise new projects; you will work with projects and programmes to proactively identify, quantify, and track the realisation of benefits used to justify investment; identify and monitor portfolio risks (threats and opportunities) and escalate as appropriate; and you will manage and engage with a wide range of stakeholders. They focus primarily on providing information, insight and support that strengthens portfolio governance that enables prioritisation decisions and effective allocation of resources across the portfolio. Ultimately you will help ensure the optimal delivery of strategic business objectives in line with MOD and DBS priorities through the analysis of a range of information sources and engagement with programme / project stakeholders and converting this into informed insights using appropriate reporting and visualisation methods. �

Alongside your salary of �43,080, Ministry of Defence contributes �12,480 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.

External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
This role is office based however, DBS are working hard to improve our access to, and use of, digital technology, empowering our people to work remotely.
