Our client is a successful and well-established manufacturer. They are currently recruiting for a Quality Manager / QA Manager to join their team.
Salary: £40,000
Hours of work: Monday to Thursday - 6:40am to 4:50pm (3 day weekend!)
Holidays: 26 Days
Applicant Requirements:
1. Experience in a similar, senior Quality position within the manufacturing sector.
2. Experience of managing direct reports.
3. Ability to deliver the highest levels of customer service, best working practices, and quality of products to clients.
4. Outstanding leadership skills with the ability to influence both direct reports and others within the business.
Main Duties:
1. Establish and maintain an IATF management system.
2. Manage Quality Management System (QMS), IATF and technical documentation and ensure proper retention of records and documents.
3. Create, update, and/or review QMS and IATF related documents, in collaboration with process owners.
4. Schedule, support and lead internal and external audits for QMS and IATF as well as support other areas of the business to prepare and be ready to receive audits.
5. Issue non-conformance reports and ensure corrective actions and preventative actions are implemented, verified and closed within a set timeframe.
6. Ensure that the QA department continually strives to achieve the targets set by the business in both productivity and quality.
7. Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operations, recommending and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimise results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standard requirements.
8. Monitor and report on quality KPIs, developing action plans to correct adverse trends and drive continuous improvements in the quality performance of the business.
9. Ensure that all quarantined material obtains disposal status within a specified time limit and is managed correctly through Sage.
10. Review and resolve customer complaints, visiting the customers where necessary.
11. Ensure Health & Safety compliance and correct PPE is being used at all times in your area. Communicate general safety at work instructions.
12. Promote a positive attitude towards Lean, so that individuals will see the benefit and support the process with a positive attitude.
13. Take part in Kaizen, 5 why, 8 D events and lead root cause analysis and preventative actions.
14. Set department objectives and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.
15. Overall responsibility for quality and procedure manuals.
16. Responsible for production test and inspection activities and resources.
17. Ensure all administration databases are up to date and correct.
18. Ensure all equipment used in the manufacture of products are calibrated by appropriately trained personnel and at an appropriate frequency. Ensure any calibration of equipment requiring repair is done so in a timely manner.
