Data Center Technician, Data Center Operations (DCO)
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Data Center Technician to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team.
Data Center Operations designs, installs, and maintains the world’s largest computing infrastructure. Our scope includes systems repair, issue resolution, parts handling and tracking, and data center maintenance. Amazon Data Centers are large-scale, high-density centers where you will help change the face of technology in the region.
Key job responsibilities
As a Data Centre Operations Engineer, you will be the primary point of contact for internal customers. Your daily tasks will include:
1. Troubleshooting technical issues on advanced hardware, including servers, storage, and networking devices, on a 24/7 basis.
2. Maintaining high system reliability and availability.
3. Participating in projects to improve operational efficiencies and sharing knowledge with our global network of technical experts.
4. Training less technical staff on best practices related to service issues.
5. Contributing to team building through involvement in hiring and interviewing processes.
A day in the life
Your daily work will involve:
1. Installing and configuring data center servers and network systems.
2. Installing, troubleshooting, and replacing hardware components of servers and network devices.
3. Working within a ticket-based environment to resolve issues systematically.
4. Participating in rotational shifts to ensure high system reliability.
5. Collaborating with internal teams and contributing to innovative projects to improve the work environment and efficiency.
6. This role involves physical activity onsite.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* 4+ years of hands-on experience with server hardware and network fiber.
* Experience in network troubleshooting, optical fiber cabling, switches, and routers.
* Strong communication skills and ability to act as escalation point.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Linux certification or administration experience (e.g., RHCSA/RHCE, LPIC, Linux+).
* Networking certifications (e.g., CCNA, Network+).
* Scripting skills (Python, Ruby, Perl, Bash).
* Additional certifications like Server+, A+, or CompTIA.
