Site Manager - Prettygate Infant and Junior School
Contract Type: Permanent & Full Time
Contract Hours: 35 per week/52 weeks per year
Split shift:
6.45am - 9.30am and 14.00pm - 18.15pm Monday to Friday
Holiday entitlement: 25 days + 8 bank holidays
Prettygate Infant and Junior Schools are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, adaptable and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly and well-resourced school. Reliability and the ability to work on your own initiative are essential for the post, as are proven maintenance skills.
Duties will include:
* Minor and routine maintenance work
* Maintaining security of our site
* General supervision of contractors
* Assisting with setting out the hall and rooms for assemblies, meetings, etc.
* Cleaning duties
* Reporting and/or responding to building maintenance issues
* Ensuring compliance with H&S legislation
* Maintaining records as required
* Assisting with the provision of other services provided by the school, such as events or lettings
The successful candidate will be approachable, adaptable and have a 'can do' attitude to meet the needs of our fast-paced school environment, and have a good rapport with staff and children. Ideally, you will possess an awareness of COSHH, Legionella, Safe Manual Handling practices and Health & Safety, although this is not essential as training will be provided. The successful candidate will be fully supported by the school's friendly Senior Leadership Team and the Premises Consultant through NESP.

We are looking for someone who:
* Has a sound understanding of Safeguarding
* Has a strong commitment to providing a high-quality service
* Has experience of building maintenance and the ability to undertake routine tasks (decoration, plumbing, carpentry, etc.)
* Has the ability to source quotations to achieve best value for site works
* Has strong oral and written communication skills, including competent basic IT skills
* Is an excellent timekeeper and is reliable and trustworthy
* Is willing to work as part of a hardworking, dedicated team
* Has knowledge and/or experience of Health & Safety
* Can manage site security and be a key holder, including overseeing occasional late evening/weekend functions
* Assist the School Business Manager with termly & annual health and safety surveys/audits
* Enjoys working with children, parents, governors and staff and is willing to become involved in all aspects of school life
* Willing to work with the Schools Premises Consultant through North Essex Schools Premises Group (NESP)
* Take responsibility in completing risk assessments
