Main duties of the job
The Social Worker role at Elysium Healthcare's Brighton & Hove Clinic involves working with vulnerable adults and children in a CAMHS Eating Disorder Clinic. Key responsibilities include completing social care assessments and risk assessments, facilitating group activities, contributing to multidisciplinary meetings, and supporting service users in their recovery and future planning. The successful candidate will have a Social Work degree, be registered with Social Work England, and have relevant experience in a similar environment working with vulnerable individuals.
Job responsibilities
As a Social Worker, you will manage a complex caseload and be responsible for:
* Social care assessments and risk assessments
* Facilitating group activities
* Contributing to ICR meetings
* Supporting service users to make viable plans for their future
* Liaising with home authorities during admission and discharge processes
* Referrals to LADO and Local Authority in line with safeguarding and assessments
* Educating Hospital staff about relevant safeguarding matters
* Completing a full annual social care reassessment within the CPA format
* Facilitating access to welfare rights, housing, advocacy services and associated support services
* Participating in 1:1 supervision
* Maintaining contact with patients' families, carers and/or significant others
* Promoting anti-discriminatory practice
* Liaising with Social Services Departments for Mental Health Review Tribunals
* Coordinating Section 117 Mental Health Act 83 aftercare plans
* Leading role in regarding children visiting service users
* Maintaining accurate records of social work inputs to care plans
* Ensuring service users have access to independent advice
* Leading on safeguarding referrals
* Attending relevant Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* To meet the standards set out in the General Social Care Councils Code of Practice for Social Care Workers
* Be registered with Social Work England
* Experience within a similar environment
* Experience working with vulnerable adults/children
Where you will be working
Location: 14-18 New Church Road, Hove, East Sussex, BN3 4FH
You will work at Brighton & Hove Clinic, a service that offers CAMHS Tier 4 Eating Disorder service for young people aged 12 up to 18 years with a primary diagnosis of eating disorder; or an eating difficulty with a co-morbid presentation for example mental health or psychological issues, such as depression, OCD or anxiety or self-harm.
