Nursery Deputy Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Ramsden Robins. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Deputy Manager to work at our beautiful Barrow-based nursery. Open 50 weeks a year, the nursery has a two-week shut down at Christmas, with opportunities to take holidays during school holidays.
Pay is negotiable dependent on experience.
Roles and Responsibilities
* To liaise with the manager and management team on a daily basis.
* To work as part of the nursery team.
* To make decisions on the day-to-day running of the nursery in the absence of a Manager.
* To follow all the nursery's administrative procedures.
* To lead as needed and be a positive role model to other staff throughout the nursery.
* To have a thorough working knowledge of the nursery's policies and procedures.
* To assist in the training of staff within the nursery.
* In the absence of a Manager, to manage staffing levels and deploy staff where necessary throughout the setting.
* To attend meetings as part of the management team.
* To be flexible with shifts and staying behind to ensure all shifts are covered in the event of staff sickness.
* Conduct risk assessments.
* Ensure health and safety compliance.
* To ensure that the nursery consistently meets the requirements set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage to a minimum good standard.
* To monitor any safeguarding issues following local authority procedures.
* Training to be undertaken as needed.
* Prepare the nursery for Ofsted inspections and act on any recommendations made by the inspector to ensure a minimum good grade is awarded.
Requirements
* Appropriate Level 3 Early Years qualification as a minimum. Candidates must have previous experience in a Management or senior role within an Early Years setting.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: Up to £14.50 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 36 per week
