Job description
Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Pipeline Engineer, based in Aberdeen.
Accountabilities:
1. Risers (Including umbilical risers)
o Review current operational limits and assess existing ALE (Ageing Life Extension) and advise as to current status for continued safe operations.
o Review previous inspection data, particularly annulus testing, and advise as to any immediate threats and required mitigations.
o Review all maintenance/monitoring regimes to ensure work orders etc. are robust to satisfy performance standards.
2. Pipelines (and umbilicals as per PSR definition)
o Review current operational limits and assess existing ALE (Ageing Life Extension) and advise as to current status and fitness for purpose moving forward.
o Review operational limits of all flowlines, jumpers etc. associated with the main pipeline to ensure continuity across operating parameters and advise as to any anomalies/inconsistencies.
o Advise on any updates required to internal SOPs etc. to align with collected data from above reviews.
o Review/consolidate all Pipeline Works Authorisations (PWAs) and associated variations, deposit consents etc. and highlight areas of concern.
o Review subsea pipeline event database and advise in the forward management of the data.
o Review all current anomalies with Pipeline Technical Authority.
o Preparation of base data for annual HSEx inspection.
o Revise Pipeline Summary Data Books and revise (2 x new risers, additional gas lift lines etc.).
3. On-going improvements
o Identify any shortfalls in the current pipeline management process and assist in an improvement program working closely with subsea team and technical authority.
4. Safety and Compliance
o Identify any operational and regulatory risks, escalating as appropriate.
o Understand and adhere to the company and department standards, policies and procedures.
o Develop and maintain positive working relationships with existing operational and technical engineering, ensuring requirements are understood and being addressed and that communication channels with them are clear and effective.
Competencies and Qualifications:
* Clear understanding of aspects of pipeline operations.
* Familiar with the relevant International standards and Codes of Practice and competent in the design, specification and operation of pipeline systems.
* Experience in using the international standards (ASME, API, NACE and DNV) in pipeline integrity management tasks.
* Ability to advise on both CAPEX and OPEX projects.
* Formal high-level qualification in pipeline engineering supported by Degree (preferably in Science or Engineering).
* Significant Oil & Gas experience in pipeline engineer role (construction/design/operations).
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) preferred.
