As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our team and oversee the business. Job Description : The General Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the bakery's manufacturing and commercial operations, ensuring the highest standards of product quality, customer service, health and safety, ESG and business performance against budget. This role requires a hands-on leader with a passion for food, excellent organisational skills, and a proven track record in managing a successful food manufacturing business. Salary: Competitive Working Hours: Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Team Management: Inspire, lead, and develop a team of 35 production, packing and hygiene staff. Foster a positive and productive work environment. Operations Management: Oversee daily operations including production schedules, inventory management and quality control. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, ESG and company policies. Customer Focus: Ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction. Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally. Product Development: Collaborate with the team to innovate and introduce new products that align with market trends and customer preferences. Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement cost-control measures. Analyse sales data and adjust strategies to achieve financial targets. Collaborate with the bakery owner and management team to develop and implement long-term strategic plans Hands on when required Required Experience: Proven experience as a General or Operations Manager or similar role in a food production environment Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of food safety and health and safety regulations Preferred Experience: 5 years of experience in a production or operations management role, preferably in a bakery or food production environment Understanding of BRC site audit requirements Hands-on experience with baking and packaging equipment In-depth knowledge of baking techniques and bakery operations.
