4. Driving a standardised approach to financial management, forecasting, reporting, and benefits tracking across strategic programs and wider IT portfolios.
5. Attend program steering committees and work alongside senior stakeholders to provide financial support and to understand, influence and challenge strategic decision making.
6. Work with IT and business resources to ensure programmes are managed and governed appropriately, delivered on time and within scope.
7. Work with program teams and Investment Accountants to understand and manage actual and forecast costs, risks, and expected benefits.
8. Work with Regulatory team to report against regulatory allowances and input into regulatory filings where required.
9. Support financial risk management and implementation & maintenance of controls.
10. Support long-term business & financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
11. Build a deep understanding of cost and value drivers across IT and BU processes.
12. Engage with emerging RIIO T3 developments.

* A proven track record of supporting, challenging and influencing senior stakeholders.
* Strong communication skills – able to clearly articulate complicated issues to a wide range of partners (finance and non-finance, internal and external, junior to senior), understanding what the audience needs to understand and how to tailor your message to ensure effective delivery.
* Experienced in financial analysis and investment appraisal – able to manipulate, transform and visualise large datasets to identify, understand and articulate the underlying trends and driving factors.
* Holistic thinker – able to make linkages between financial and operational performance and share these with stakeholders to drive better business outcomes.
* Self-developer – actively seek out opportunities to learn new skills and to expand your understanding of your role and the wider business.
* Improvement mindset – a drive to improve the efficiency, accuracy and reliability of business processes and to share learnings across the wider team.
* A broad-based background and strong commercial skills.
