We have an exciting opportunity for a Desktop Rollout/IT Support Technician to join our existing team in our Leeds Head Office on a Fixed Term basis of 6 months.
The Role:
Working on the rollout of Windows 11, you will be expected to, with minimal supervision, set up new machines (imaging, updates etc.) with targeted configuration based on the individual needs of the users. This role will require you to contact the individuals receiving new equipment directly, gather information from them/their systems and organise the deployment of the new equipment.
Responsibilities:
1. Setting up and configuring new laptops and desktops.
2. Installing authorised software to laptops and desktops.
3. Configure other computer systems and peripherals as instructed.
4. If required, undertake trips to other sites/data centre including staying overnight where appropriate.
5. Always maintain a high degree of customer service.
6. To take ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with user issues.
7. To log all calls on the call logging system and maintain full documentation.
8. Respond to enquiries from clients and help them resolve any hardware or software problems.
9. Support users in the use of Computer equipment by providing necessary training and advice.
10. To allocate more complex service issues to the relevant IT Support member.
11. Maintain reports and logs in line with departmental policy.
12. Any other duties as requested by the IT PaSTL/IT Manager.
What we are looking for:
1. Good understanding of Microsoft OS.
2. Experience using system imaging and deployment toolsets.
3. Good understanding of computer hardware components.
4. Experience maintaining software/hardware assets within an ITSM system.
5. Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
6. Proficiency in common desktop applications (Microsoft Office, Adobe, Chrome).
7. Troubleshooting skills for desktops, laptops, peripherals.
8. Confidence communicating with staff members via phone, teams, email etc.
