We are looking for a positive and enthusiastic Radiographer who wants to join a welcoming and progressive MRI team.
We offer a Band 6 post for an experienced MRI Radiographer or we may consider an Annex 21 training opportunity for a highly motivated Radiographer wanting to develop clinical MRI skills via our successful in-house MRI training programme (Annex 21 B6 post). After completing full training competencies, the MRI training Radiographer will progress to B6.
Our MRI team rotate through three 1.5T & one 3.0T GE scanners and all have access to a wide range of MRI examinations, clinical experience and supportive professional development. We provide a high-quality imaging service within a successful accredited Diagnostic Imaging department.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise, have excellent communication skills, initiative and have the ability to work efficiently and positively within the multidisciplinary team. The individual selected will be prepared to continually develop themselves personally and professionally to benefit patients, our Trust and team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder must have a flexible approach to their working life. The MRI service operates for 12.5 hours daily, 7 days per week. Our MRI staff work a 3-day shift pattern, which includes weekend and Bank holiday working.
Produce high quality diagnostic images and provide high quality patient care to the service users adhering to national guidelines and taking into account relevant legislation [Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations (IR(ME)R) 2000]. The post holder will work in a specialised Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) unit working independently and unsupervised. The ability to prioritise the workload is essential.
Provide motivation and training for junior staff.
May undertake one of more of the following as extended role:
* Venopuncture
* Representative at Trust wide meetings e.g.: improving working lives
* Post graduate study
